Terms of Use

clipboard.live is an ephemeral, encrypted text-sharing tool. You paste text, receive a shareable link or 6-digit code, and others can view or edit the clip in real time until it expires or is deleted.

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into these terms. By using the service you represent that you meet these requirements.

The service can be used without an account. Creating an account links clips you create to your identity, enables owner controls across devices, and is required for Pro features. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

The Pro plan is offered as a recurring subscription at $29.99 per year, billed through Wix Payments. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current paid period except as permitted by Wix Payments' refund policy. Prices may change with reasonable advance notice.

You agree not to use the service to store or share content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or otherwise abusive. Prohibited uses include, without limitation:

• Sharing another person's personal or confidential information without consent.
• Credentials, private keys, API secrets, or other access tokens (the app warns against this; you share such data solely at your own risk).
• Malware, exploits, or content designed to harm systems or devices.
• Content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Attempting to overload, reverse-engineer, probe, or disrupt the service.
• Circumventing access limits, rate limits, or billing controls.

We may suspend access, delete clips, or terminate accounts for violations, with or without notice.

You retain all rights to content you share. By creating a clip, you grant us the limited, temporary permission needed to store and transmit its encrypted form for the duration of the clip's life. You are solely responsible for the content you share and for ensuring you have the right to share it.

Clips are temporary. Expiry, self-destruct, and deletion permanently remove content from our servers. We do not guarantee that any clip will persist, and we are not obligated to recover lost, expired, or deleted data. Always keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

You are responsible for safeguarding share links, 6-digit codes, passwords, and your account. In full-link mode the encryption key lives in the link — anyone who obtains the full link can read the clip. In code-only mode the key is held on the server and a 6-digit code is enough to open it. Choose the mode that fits your needs and share carefully.

The clipboard.live name, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors. These terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or service code beyond the limited right to use the service.

The service relies on third parties (including Wix Payments and hosting providers). We are not responsible for their actions, outages, or policies, and their terms may also apply to you.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, SECURITY, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ENCRYPTION CANNOT BE DEFEATED. YOUR USE OF ANY ENCRYPTION OR SECURITY FEATURE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

YOU USE THE SERVICE ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OWNERS OR OPERATORS OF CLIPBOARD.LIVE, OR THEIR AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, OR LICENSORS, BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PRIVACY, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS — WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES — EVEN IF ANY REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, the above limits apply to the fullest extent permitted in your jurisdiction. Where a mandatory limitation exists, our total aggregate liability for all claims is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars (US$50) if you paid nothing.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, for any reason, including inactivity, abuse, or to protect the service. Upon termination, your active clips are subject to normal expiry and deletion.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
